Brite Futures, now a thing of the past

First they were Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head. Then Natalie Portman, the actress herself, got it into her head that having an electro-pop band named in her honor wasn’t such a good idea, so they became Brite Futures. And now Brite Futures have decided to call it quits. The Seattle-based party animals made the announcement on Facebook today, saying their last show would be June 16 at the Vera Project in Seattle. They depart having released three albums (essentially, their debut was released twice, two years apart, after they signed to Warner), the most recent being “Dark Past” in November. And they gave a fun show at Buzz Bands LA’s SXSW party in 2011. Cheers.
I thought they were the best thing about that SXSW showcase. Because of them I was growing a side ponytail. Now I feel like an idiot.
