Thursday’s things:
‣ Chuck Ragan and Hot Water Music are back with their first album since 2004. “Exister” came out last week to a warm embrace from longtime fans. The quartet celebrates its release with a sold-out show tonight at the Satellite.
‣ U.K. rock ’n’ soul trio Little Barrie – fronted by Primal Scream/Paul Weller/Edwyn Collins collaborator Barrie Cadogan (and including Virgil Howe, son of Yes’s Steve, on drums) – visits the Bootleg Bar behind last summer’s release “King of the Waves.” Auditorium and Willoughby open.
‣ New Zealand-born singer-songwriter Kimbra plays an intimate show at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
‣ And Canadian sextet Hey Rosetta! visits the Echo behind ATO Records’ deluxe re-release of their album “Seeds.” Rich Aucoin and A House for Lions support.
