Deap Vally is not only the best band ever to form in a needlework class, but the L.A. duo’s take on blues-rock gets sharper and steamier with every lick. Although singer-guitarist Lindsey Troy and drummer-singer Julie Edwards have little in the way of formal releases – the single “Gonna Make My Own Money,” available on iTunes, will be out as a 7-inch July 30 on Ark Recordings – they have a full summer ahead, including festival dates in the U.K. and September gigs supporting the Vaccines. The new song “End of the World,” like “Money,” is produced by Lars Stalfors (Matt & Kim, Mars Volta, Cold War Kids, Le Butcherettes. Get stomping.
