The Week Ahead: June 18-24
[For your planning pleasure, here’s a straight-up list of what’s ahead this week, with our picks:]
VIDEOIncoming: Glen Hansard, Jenny Lewis, Mark Gardner, Delta Rae, Warped Tour, Liars, Milo Greene, Crash Kings, Ministry, Warships, Moon Block Party and more
Our staff picks of the week:
@KRBronson recommends: Delta Rae on Monday at the Grammy Museum, Tuesday at the Troubadour and Saturday evening (free) at KCRW’s Summer Nights series at One Colorado in Pasadena. The soulful folk quintet from North Carolina won my heart in about 30 seconds as they were playing a pop-up show on a patio at SXSW . Their debut album “Carry the Fire” comes out Tuesday.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Warships , Monte Mar and Blonde Summer at the Central SAPC on Tuesday. If you’re looking for the local bill packed with sophisticated pop, this lineup for Warships’ third residency night is the place to be. (I must have played Blonde Summer’s “Eelganza” EP in my car for three months straight.)
After the jump, this week’s goodies:
