Authors who are about to end their rocking, we salute you. The Rock Bottom Remainders – the loose musical alliance of writers including Stephen King, Dave Barry, Amy Tan, Scott Turow, Mitch Albom, Matt Groening and more – played their final show on Friday at the El Rey Theatre. The lively benefit concert (part of the “Past Our Bedtime Tour”) featured Roger McGuinn of the Byrds (top photo, with King) as special musical guest as the band played a set largely composed of covers. There were some other familiar characters onstage too, and photographer Scott Dudelson shared this gallery.
