The tidal wave of artists returning with a new album this fall includes the Raveonettes, who recently announced that their sixth studio album is slated for a release on Sept. 11 on Vice Records. To start the buzz for the new record “Observator,” their first offering for fans is, appropriately, the track “Observations.” Produced by the legendary Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, the Go-Gos), the gloom-chic track has the piano as its anchor. But if you’re worried about the Danish rock duo turning down the scorching shoegaze they’re known for, you can stop right there. The guitars seep in toward the middle of the song with distant ethereal vocals draping over the rhythm, making it for a gorgeous listen all the way to the end.
