Video: Mrs. Magician, ‘The Dead 80’s’

Even with lyrics like “F**k the world / F**k the law / F**k the kids,” Mrs. Magician‘s repertoire still has a sunny slacker charm, and the Derrick Acosta- and Dusty Peterman-directed clip for “The Dead 80s’s” may bring another meaning to the title of their album “Strange Heaven” (out now on Swami Records). The psychedelic black-and-white video presents a land full of zebra-striped hills, palm trees and killer whales, and its wacky direction is a nice foil to the San Diego-based quartet’s arsenal of simple but pleasant fuzzed-out guitars and drums. Don’t know if it’s heaven, but Beetlejuice probably wouldn’t mind living in this video.
