Another mucho Monday:
‣ Jean-Philip Grobler – the Johannesberg, South Africa-born, Brooklyn-based electro-pop artist known as St. Lucia – heads up the lineup at the RSVP-only It’s a School Night at Bardot, where Sonnymoon and Pony Boy also perform and promoters promise some “secret headliners” to make it all real special. Above, St. Lucia’s video for “Before the Dive.”
‣ Good times in subterranean climes in Venice tonight – electro maestro Daedelus plays the Del Monte Speakeasy, along with Touché and Galapagoose.
‣ Free residencies at the Silver Lake/Echo Park venues keep going strong: American Royalty (joined by Calvin Love, the New Division and Writer) at the Echo; JMSN (with Alekesam and He Met Her) at the Bootleg Bar; and Terraplane Sun (abetted by Yellow Alex & the Feelings, Das Tapes and Tijuana Tears) at the Satellite.
‣ And The xx plays to a sold-out Fonda Theatre, with Haim and Jacques Greene supporting.
