[Things to ponder before you try to score those Green Day tickets at 10 a.m. …]

First Monday in August, what fun:

Meg Myers [pictured] kicks off her August residency at the Bootleg Bar. The local rocker won a lot of fans almost immediately with her “Daughter in the Choir” EP [and songs like these and videos like this], and the studio project started with co-writer Doctor Rosen Rosen has taken off. Adam Oliver opens; your hosts Buzz Bands LA will do a late DJ set; and “Mitt & the Romneys” play the 10 p.m. set.
Francisco the Man celebrates the release of its new “Tiger” 7-inch at its residency kickoff at the Satellite , and the great supporting cast includes Chasing Kings, the Wind and Monte Mar.
Wildcat! Wildcat! has a 7-inch release of its own (“Mr. Chief”) and a residency to launch at the Echo, where Incan Abraham supports.
Green Day has that surprise show at the Echoplex. Ticket on sale at 10 a.m. (two per person maximum, non-transferable), with doors at 8 and set time of 10 p.m.
‣ His new EP making noise, Daniel Bedingfield does a Q&A and a performance at the Grammy Museum.
‣ And it’s Aerosmith and Cheap Trick at the Hollywood Bowl.
