@KRBronson recommends: Soul from different solar systems – that’s the only way to describe Tuesday’s bill at the Fonda Theatre. Alabama Shakes bring the straight-from-the-South sounds of their debut album “Boys & Girls,” and they are joined on the bill by U.K. crooner Michael Kiwanuka. Alabama Shakes also play Wednesday at the Fox Theater in Pomona; Kiwanuka headlines the Troubadour on Monday and does an in-store at Amoeba on Wednesday.
@Seraphina_L recommends: It’s been 11 years since they released their highly acclaimed album “The Sophtware Slump,” and now Grandaddy reunites for some West Coast tour dates. On Monday at the Fonda, the Central Valley-bred band is joined by L.A.’s Earlimart and DJ Darren Revell.
