There’s something about Sean Rowe‘s baritone that are so charmingly inviting no matter what emotion he conveys. Always paired with conviction, Rowe could be an a cappella artist and tell a story with just his burning tone and peculiar melodies. But the musician, whose journey with music began around the same time with his fascination with nature, is an explorer and has gone on to uncover new sounds on his latest album “The Salesman and the Shark” (due out Aug. 28 on Anti- Records). “Downwind” is an exemplary tune; it’s another one of is Rowe’s re-imaginings of pop. It gallops with a boisterousness and when Chris Kyle (the Railbirds) and his guitar solo takes off, it spirals into the perfect soundtrack for what Rowe saw in his head: a fugitive on the run.
