‣ It’s time for the fifth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival, with Marilyn Manson, the Offspring, Steve Aoki, Bad Religion, Black Label Society, Far East Movement, De La Soul and more playing on the outdoor stages and clubs shows featuring Wax, Das Racist, Wallpaper, Matt Skiba, Love & a .38, the Stone Foxes, JJAMZ, Family of the Year, Caught a Ghost, Betty Moon and more. ‣ The first day of Rock the Bells goes off the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, with three stages of hip-hop featuring the likes of Kid Cudi, Method Man + Redman, KRS-One, El-P, Immortal Technique, Common and more.
‣ The Henry Clay People celebrate the release of their new album “Twenty-Five for the Rest of Our Lives” with a show at the Bootleg Bar, supported by Jail Weddings, Sanglorians and Buzz Bands LA DJs.
‣ The Family Stone join Brides of Funkenstein, Dennis Coffee, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and more at the Long Beach Funk Fest, on two stages in downtown Long Beach.
‣ And there’s a handful of free, outdoor shows to cap your summer evening: Reverend Horton Heat and Dead Rock West at Pershing Square; Fool’s Gold at Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park; Mark de Clive-Lowe at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena; and Elaine Fay at One Colorado in Pasadena.
