A benefit show Monday night at the Viper Room will celebrate the life of MC Exposition – aka “Expo” – the voice at the front of SoCal hip-hop outfit Audible Mainframe. MC Exposition [pictured], a Boston native born Victor Pontes-Macedo, died in April of stomach cancer. He was 31.
Appearing at Monday night’s show, which benefits the VICtory Foundation, will be 7Lions, the rap-rock sextet behind the hit “Born 2 Run,” along with Audible Mainframe [see our 2009 post]. Audible Mainframe this spring completed recording “The VICtory Sessions, Vol. 2,” available by free download or with a donation.
After Pontes-Macedo’s death, the band posted a statement that read, in part: “Expo inspired countless people worldwide with his words and actions. His legacy will live on through his music forever. Words can’t even begin to describe how much he will be missed.”
