Festivals, free nights, club shows …. oh my:

‣ Echo Park Rising brings more than 100 bands to the venues, shops and galleries in that neighborhood, with Fool’s Gold, Youngblood Hawke, Voxhaul Broadcast, NO, Soft Swells and more playing. Free and all ages. See our page with map and set times.

‣ Snoop Dogg [pictured] and John Legend head up the lineup at the H20 Music Festival at Los Angeles State Historic Park.
‣ The Mad Decent Block Party brings Zeds Dead, Theophilus London and more to the LA Center Studios (450 S. Bixel).
‣ Beachwood Sparks plays an afternoon set, and there’s more at the Hester Street Fair (at Hollywood and Argyle).
‣And Buskerfest goes off in the East Village Arts District (at Broadway and Linden) in Long Beach, with Beachwood Sparks and the Fling capping the day’s activities with headlining sets.
‣ Geographer performs and Dublab DJs and other artists provide “soundtracks” to the installations at “Muse Til Midnight” at LACMA.
‣ Chilean singer-MC Ana Tijoux does a free show downtown at California Plaza.
‣ The Record Company, joined by Random Ninjas, Stephen Sowan, Buyepongo and KCRW DJs Anthony Valadez and Aaron Byrd, entertain at the free Chinatown Summer Nights (943-951 N. Broadway).
‣ And good club shows too? Sure, and topping the list are L.A. indie rockers Torches and Incan Abraham, who play the Satellite along with Body Parts and Young Empress.
