@KRBronson recommends: FYF Fest on Saturday and Sunday at L.A. State Historic Park in downtown L.A. Expanding to two days for the first time, FYF brings a remarkable cross-section of music – both current and of various recent vintages – to multiple stages. Like having a DIY conmunity-curated Coachella in our own backyard, although in its execution FYF is now far from its DIY roots.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Niki & the Dove at the Echo on Friday. Swedes just know their pop and duo Niki & the Dove are among the newest bands from Stockholm who are putting a theatrical spin on the genre with their album “Instinct” (out now on Sub Pop). If you’re into disco-tinted electro-pop with a hint of gypsy attitude, this band will be the kick start to your weekend.
