Michael Davis, Alaska Reid, the Sweet Hurt to play Buzz Bands LA’s SecondTuesday at Lot 1 Cafe

Michael Davis (of Michael Davis With Lions), Alaska Reid and the Sweet Hurt will play Buzz Bands LA’s SecondTuesday songwriter night at Lot 1 Cafe on Sept. 11.
Davis, whose full-band show Saturday at Echo Park Rising was a hit, unveiled his “Bandages” EP this spring and has a Nik Freitas-produced album ready for release. He did the April residency at the Silverlake Lounge. See his video for “Real Love (Bandages).” Reid, a teenager who hails from a small town in Montana, released her debut EP “Powerlines,” a six-song EP that revealed a voice beyond her years, in February. Wendy Wang of the Sweet Hurt has been busy writing, recording and touring with myriad other artists since releasing her full-length LP in 2010. New songs? We hope so.
Doors open at 9 p.m. A $5 donation is requested; proceeds go to the artists. Lot 1 Cafe serves food, beer and wine.
