Happy September:

‣ If there’s one song I want to hear at FYF Fest, it’s F*cked Up’s “Queen of Hearts.” The Canadian rockers are No. 1 on my festival hit list, followed by, in order of urgency, M83, Redd Kross, Two Gallants, Cloud Nothings, Quicksand, the Vaselines, the Soft Pack, FIDLAR, Nite Jewel and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Refused, James Blake, Warpaint, the Orwells, Future Islands, Tycho and A.A. Bondy are playing too – single-day tickets are available ($60) at L.A. State Historic Park. Let’s have a weekend, shall we? (Remember that the originally announced set times were revised. We’ve re-posted today’s after the jump.)
‣ Tsar – an EP with their first new material in seven years now available digitally – plays the Bootleg Bar along with Nerf Herder and and Dollyrots. The Dollyrots, by the way, have their fourth album on the way Sept. 18.
‣ And Old 97’s and Those Darlins are back for another night at the El Rey Theatre.
