@KRBronson recommends: It’s more like a day in the park than one of those dusty, crowded music festivals – the Port of Los Angeles Lobsterfest is a family-friendly gathering that’s part feast, part carnival and part showcase for local music talent. It goes off Friday through Sunday at Ports O’ Call Village in San Pedro, with Saint Motel, Dum Dum Girls and the Blasters headlining those three days, respectively, and Youngblood Hawke, Races, NO, Great Northern, Jail Weddings and JJAMZ among the other bands playing. Daily admission: $10.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Summer Darling at the Satellite on Friday. The L.A. band, who released their self-titled album in 2010, will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary. There will be tons of special merch like vinyl, early EPs, CD copies of the first record, T-shirts, stickers, flash drives and more available for purchase. Their buddies By Sunlight (from Seattle) and Rainbow Jackson should also make it a fun night.
