The Bixby Knolls have long been cultivating their take on dark, brooding British rock – so long, in fact, that there’s probably a novel to be written about why the full-length album they began recording in 2010 hasn’t seen the light of day yet. But that’s a story for another day. Today’s bulletin is that the L.A. quartet – Curt Barlage, Sammy Fayed, Cesar Saez De Nanclares and Christian Morales – finally have something to show for their studio work and tireless gigging. More than a year after their Echo residency, the Bixby Knolls have unveiled their pulsing single “Through the Cracks.” It was recorded with producer (and kindred spirit) Joe Cardamone of the Icarus Line. Do not, under any circumstances, handle with care.
