Download: Communist Daughter, ‘Ghosts’

There’s no story more heartwarming than one where someone thanks another for saving them. In Communist Daughter’s case, singer Molly Moore saved frontman Johnny Solomon (formerly of Twin Cities band Friends Like These) a handful of years ago when he was struggling with addiction. Today, they’re both happily sober (and engaged) and the main songwriters behind the captivating folk-rock EP “Lions and Lambs” (out now on Grain Belt Records). Moore’s sweet vocals harmonizing with Solomon’s rough but sturdy voice on songs like “Ghosts” sound like a happy ending, but what makes the record so enthralling is all those personal trials that have seeped into the songwriting.
