Funny thing happened to Marion Belle en route to making a new Bowery Beasts album. “Basically the [new] songs and the sounds were telling a certain story,” he says, “and I realized the need to explore them in a separate world of their own.” And Fatal Jamz were born. Belle told Vice his new music is “very poppy in a ghetto glam hesher kind of way” – not a bad way to describe the lead song “Another Crystal Morning,” which finds Belle racing through an irresistible melody in front of a strafing guitar lick. Fatal Jamz’ new album will emerge first as a cassette release from Burger Records and Portland-based GNAR Tapes. There’s a lot more where this song came from.
