Melody’s Echo Chamber couldn’t be a more perfect moniker for Melody Prochet, as her hazy, sun-drenched melodies flow like the hues in a water-color painting. And if the psychedelic warmth to her sound is familiar, it’s because she worked on her self-title debut (out now via Fat Possum) with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. But by no means does that imply Prochet needs help crafting those pop melodies. Woozy songs like “I Follow You” alone are enchantingly potent with meticulous layers underneath her dream-pop vocals. The Laurie Lasalle-directed clip for the track follows suit.
