► Modest Mouse plays a show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery behind their latest album “Strangers to Ourselves.”
► In advance of her appearance at FYF Fest, Melody’s Echo Chamber — the dream-pop project of French musician Melody Procet — performs at the El Rey Theatre, with Morgan Delt supporting.
► More pre-FYF shows: Dinosaur Jr. rocks the Roxy, with the Sloths opening; Canadian trio Badbadnotgood headlines the Regent Theater, supported by Show Me the Body and Marvel Alexander; the Drums play in support of their latest album “Encyclopedia” at the Hlass House, with froth opening; Baltimore indie-pop quartet Lower Dens hit the Echo along with Empress Of; and newbies Junk join Broncho and Walter for a show at Non Plus Ultra.
► Heart does the first of two nights at the Hollywood Bowl with Liv Warfield and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
