Tonight’s full plate:
‣ First a word from Buzz Bands LA: It’s our SecondTuesday night at Lot 1 Cafe, headlined tonight by pop-rock quintet Troup, along with Paper Pilots and Mighty Forces.
‣ The Corin Tucker Band visits the Echo behind its new album “Kill My Blues.” Summer Twins and Branden Daniel & the Chics support.
‣ Nashville gargage-rock duo JEFF the Brotherhood blasts off at the Troubadour, supported by Diarrhea Planet and Colleen Green. That’s their video for “Hypnotic Nights,” above.
‣ The Wallflowers’ new album “Glad All Over” (their first since 2005) is out today, and the band plays the Fonda Theatre supported by Everest.
‣ Metric’s new album “Synthetica” came out in June, and Emily Haines and crew have a big night ahead at the Greek Theatre.
‣ Big night for Check Yo Ponytail 2 at the Echoplex – New Yorkers DIIV heads up a lineup that includes Violens, Cold Showers and Deathday.
‣ Genre-mashing jazz trio the Bad Plus does an intimate night at the Mint.
‣ And Go West Young Man continues its residency at the Central SAPC – and one of the support bands tonight is Sweden’s Immanu El, the ambient post-rockers who made such a strong impression at Culture Collide (and Monday night at the Satellite).
