Download: JAN, ‘Work For the City’

Although there are many who may still be mourning the demise of local post-punk darlings Eagle & Talon, some should be happy to hear that one-half of its members are still offering new tunes. Kim Talon who served as the duo’s guitarist, is now residing in Brooklyn, but she’s got a new project called JAN. With Smoosh’s Chloe Saavedra and Har Mar Superstar’s Melinda Parks joining her for live shows, the trio’s new sound familiarly plays with girlish vocals sprinkled on top of punk rhythms in songs like “Work For the City,” and the Matthew Robinson-directed clip for the track is appropriately slightly NSFW.  With the help of producer John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip, Sleater-Kinney), Talon will be releasing a self-titled album Nov. 13 via Enclaves.
