‣ In support of their forthcoming record “III” (out Nov 3. Fiction Records), Crystal Castles headline the Hollywood Palladium with strong supporting bands HEALTH and Kontravoid.
‣ The Echoplex gets rocked by the Soft Pack, Crocodiles and Heavy Hawaii.
‣ The Jealous Sound, Weatherbox and Cardboard Lamb all team up at the Satellite.
‣ Dan Deacon, the brainy and wacky electronic maestro who just released the album “America” back in August” heads a full lineup at the El Rey Theatre. [That’s his video for “True Thrush” above.] Also playing: Height With Friends, Chester Endersby Gwazad and Alan Resnick.
‣ Cold Cave plays a free outdoor show at the Getty as part of the Saturdays off the 405 series.
‣ Aaron Freeman of Ween does a solo set the Troubadour.
‣ Pop stars Ellie Goulding, PSY and Rita Ora all play the House of Blues as part of 97.1 AMP Radio’s Halloween Masquerade.
‣ It’s an outrageous pairing over at the Fonda Theatre with Peaches and Big Freedia.
‣ A solid local lineup over at the Breathing Room features Infantree, Monsters Calling Home and the Janks.
‣ And the Script and Tristan Prettyman take on the Greek Theatre.
