Ears Wide Open: The Wellspring

0

Considering Dov Rosenblatt and Talia Osteen’s meet-cute in real life, The Wellspring is an appropriate name for the duo, who recently relocated from the Big Apple to the City of Angels. Rosenblatt met Osteen when she had discovered his previous band Fools for April while working at a film production company. After finding out Osteen used to sing prior to working in film (and realizing they were fans of each other’s talents), the two discovered a a wellspring of music after writing together for the first time in 2009. With most of the lyrics coming from Osteen’s poetry, the two continued to collaborate and released two EPs, a self-titled affair and “Keep a Light.” Their folk-pop sound with heavy hooks and featherlight harmonies also paved their way to scoring the upcoming comedy “Coffeetown” written and directed by Brad Copeland, produced by CollegeHumor, but what fans should be excited about is their forthcoming full length “The Girl Who Cried Sheep” which is being produced by Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos) and slated for an early 2013 release.
