Things for a wonderful Wednesday:

‣ Ben Gibbard visits the Wilshire Ebell Theatre behind his solo album “Former Lives.” Damian Jurado, whose own recent release “Maraqopa” is equally moving, supports. That’s the pretty-damned-funny video for Gibbard’s “Teardrop Windows,” above.
‣ New Orleans quartet Generationals and L.A. sextet Races team up for a night at the Echo. Generationals just released a new EP “Lucky Numbers;” Races’ “Year of the Witch” came out earlier this yer on Frenchkiss Records. And Francisco the Man opens tonight’s show.
‣ Gary Clark Jr. is back for a second sold-out night at the Troubadour. Timothy Bloom at the Troubadour
‣ The Mynabirds visit the Bootleg Bar on a night that Shon Sullivan and his band Goldenboy celebrate the release of their album “The New Familiar” with the early set.
‣ And Petty Fest West – a fundraiser for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund – goes off at the El Rey Theatre. The first of the two-night benefit features guests such as Patrick Carney of the Black Keys, Nick Valensi and Fabrizio Moretti of the Strokes, Sarah Silverman, Butch Walker, Jesse Malin, Harper Simon, Har Mar Superstar, Jenny O., AA Bondy and more.
