Heaping helping of good things tonight:
‣ Milo Greene, you’ve grown up so fast. The L.A. quintet who released their debut album in July headline the El Rey Theatre tonight, supported by Toronto’s Bahamas.
‣ Grouplove [pictured], its tour engine back up and running after having to scotch some tour dates because Christian Zucconi had laryngitis and the flu, heads up a big night for L.A. bands at the Wiltern. The quintet, arguably the breakout L.A. band of the past year, will be joined by two bands who figure to have a big year in 2013 – PAPA and Superhumanoids.
‣ Cold Specks, featuring up-and-coming U.K. soul singer Al Spx, performs at the Getty Center behind her debut album “I Predict a Graceful Expulsion.”
‣ Felix Cartal heads up the party at the Shrine, joined by Manufactured Superstars, Savoy, David Solano and Tony Fresch.
‣ Tame Impala, joined by the Amazing, are back for a second night in L.A., this (sold-out) show at the Fonda Theatre.
‣ And the World Record winds up its tour behind its new album “Freeway Special” with a show at El Cid, supported by Magic Mirror and Charlie Limousine.
