@KRBronson recommends: Can’t think of a smarter warmup for Thursday’s feast than Wednesday night’s “Church Sessions” at the first Unitarian Church. Patrick Watson will be visiting from Montreal with his quartet, offering an appetizer of delicious orchestral folk-pop, and Half Moon Run support.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Colleen Green, Sisu and Tropical Popsicle at the Satellte on Friday. The dazed DIY popster Collen Green may be headlining the show in support of her “Cujo” EP, but dark-wave shoegaze fans should get there early for SISU, the band featuring Dum Dum Girls members Sandra Vu and Jules Medeiros. Goth-psych group Tropical Popsicle also beefs up bill. DJ set will be provided by Dee Dee of Dum Dum Girls.
