Download: Rah Rah, ‘Art and a Wife’

It’s taken a while for Rah Rah to make its way to the Lower 48. The sextet from Regina, Saskatchewan, began winning over Canadian hearts in 2008, and a couple of full-lengths and EPs later, they have released their U.S. debut, “The Poet’s Dead” (out in October via Hidden Pony Records). If you like meat-and-potatoes indie-rock that’s heavy on the hooks and alternately sweet and tart, Rah Rah comes recommended. “The Poet’s Dead” will remind you of some of the band’s countrymen, even the beloved Weakerthans in places. As their name suggests, cheers.
