Above: So Many Wizards [see of tops-in-L.A. albums list] are one of about 50 artists playing this weekend’s FMLY Fest at two downtown locations. The festival, thrown by the “D.I.T.” (do-it-together) FMY collective, features music, visual art, workshops and more. That’s So Many Wizards’ video for “I Like It Here,” off their debut album “Warm Nothing.”

@KRBronson recommends: Father John Misty on Saturday at the El Rey Theatre. The music of ex-Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman took on several new dimensions after he assumed the Father John Misty moniker – the album “Fear Fun” is getting a lot of deserved attention in best-of-2012 lists, and Tillman’s stage shows are wildly entertaining.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Wanda Jackson at the Observatory on Saturday. She’s the First Lady of rock ’n’ roll. She’s the Queen of Rockabilly. She’s a legend. Need I say more? (Or make it a double treat: Godfather of Goth, Peter Murphy, plays in the Constellation Room the same night)
