When the Morning Benders changed their name to POP ETC, the members stayed the same yet a new band was born. Staying true to their new name, the Berkeley-born, Brooklyn-based band (with their strong L.A. roots) favors layers of synth over lush baroque guitar-pop with their new single “Keep It For Your Own.” And its Travis Schneider-directed clip, which plays with light and shadow, may remind fans just how much the band’s current arrangements contrast with their past soundscapes. POP ETC’s self-titled album is out now via Rough Trade.
