Video: Deap Vally, ‘Lies’

Of Los Angeles duo Deap Vally, NME writes that theirs is “the sort of dirty music we need right now.” It would seem so. Singer-guitarist Lindsey Troy and drummer Julie Edwards have created quite a racket in the U.K. with their scuzzy blues – Island Records UK snapped up the band and, having already gigged with Muse and the Vaccines, they will be opening for Mumford & Sons in March in Europe. Today it was announced that Deap Vally’s first official U.S. release will come April 9, with a four-song EP via Cherrytree/Communion/Interscope/Island Records (Aside: Is that one label per song, or what?). They’ve obviously come a long way since their days in the Troys (Lindsey) and the Pity Party (Julie). Dirty music, indeed. Dirty “Lies.”
