L.A. Buzz Bands Show, tonight at 7 on KCSN

You might be engrossed in the Grammy extravaganza this evening. You might not. You might be stuck on the 405 with nothing but the radio to keep you company, or at the gym, earbuds in and churning away. Allow me to offer the L.A. Buzz Bands Show as an hour-long musical alternative: Tonight at 7 p.m. on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org), I’ll have the new singles from Youngblood Hawke, Fitz & the Tantrums, Hindu Pirates, Rainbow Jackson and Harper Simon, along with tunes from Salt Petal, the Little Ones and Amy Blaschke. We’ll also hear from a few of the bands playing the local music stage at next weekend’s Chinese New Year Festival in Chinatown. Plus, I’ll have some tickets to give away for Tuesday’s sold-out Hunter Hunted show at the Troubadour.

Hey, toss me that statuette. After the jump, the playlist:

Youngblood Hawke, “Stars”
Fitz & the Tantrums, “Out of My League”
Hunter Hunted, “Keep Together”
The Little Ones, “Catch the Movement”
Harper Simon, “Bonnie Brae”
Salt Petal, “Pico”
Rainbow Jackson, “Freckles”
Hindu Pirates, “In the Dark”
Rhye, “Open”
Ghost Loft, “Seconds”
Wires in the Walls, “In the Rain”
Y LUV, “The NOC”
Troup, “Edge of the World”
Eastern Conference Champions, “Sideways Walking”
Amy Blaschke, “What I’m Asking Of”

…. thanks for listening
