@KRBronson recommends: Two local bands celebrate album releases with shows on Friday night, so take your pick: Art-pop outfit Fol Chen is back with a new album “The False Alarms,” and they play the Bootleg Bar, while the Lonely Wild is releasing its long-awaited debut “The Sun As It Comes,” with a record-release show at the Satellite.

@Seraphina_L recommends: If you’re antsy for the summer season to begin, Santa Monica Pier will be a good start. Saturday’s lineup by the ocean features the breezy sounds of Poolside, the eccentric tunes of YACHT and the electro-pop of Kisses.
