‣Â It’s a perfect day to head down to Santa Monica Pier, especially when Poolside, YACHT, Kisses and Them Jeans play as part of the summer series “All Bands On Deck” starting at 4:00 P.M. An after-party will follow featuring DJ sets by Poolside, Guns in the Sun and KCRW’s Mario Cotto.
‣Â Living Colour, who reunited back in 2000, stops by the El Rey Theatre and plays their debut album “Vivid” from 1988.
‣Â Lalah Hathaway, who is considered the first daughter of soul and is the actual daughter of Donny Hatahway, headlines Club Nokia with B. Slade as her special guest.
‣ The Jealous Sound opens for emo hardcore band Texas is the Reason over at the Fonda Theatre.
‣Â Daedelus headlines a second night this week. This time he’s teaming with Twofresh, Ryan Hemsworth and Samo Sound Boy for a show at the Glass House in Pomona.
‣ This year’s KXSC Fest (put on by KXSC Radio) brings in Dan Deacon as headliner. Local acts such as Chelsea Wolfe, the Dead Ships, Dublab DJs and more also join in the fun.
‣ And Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Murs & Fashawn, Grouch & Eligh and many more get together for the Paid Dues Festival at San Manuel Amphitheatre.
