Download: Low, ‘Just Make It Stop’

Low may disapprove of the term “slowcore,” but no one can deny that they’ve been writing songs to move the soul. With their lush, country-tinged harmonies, the trio from Duluth, Minn., celebrates 20 years as a band with their tenth album “The Invisible Way” (out now on Sub Pop). The piano almost becomes a 4th member on this record as it subtly moves from the background to the forefront of songs such as “Just Make It Stop.” And as the song title suggests, Low churns out pleading lyrics (“If I could just make it stop/I could tell the whole world/To get out of the way”) and the guitar chugs away as the vocals tug on one’s heart strings.
