T’was the Thursday before Coachella and all through the city …

‣ U.K. quartet Savages quickened our pulse at SXSW; now the band has an album titled “Silence Yourself” coming May 7 on Matador records, and the quartet brings its primal post-punk to the Echo tonight. No Bra opens.
‣ Passion Pit and Tanlines [the latter was impressed at last fall’s FYF Fest] do a Coachella warm-up at Club Nokia.
‣ Another prelude to the desert features Yeasayer, Wild Nothing and Wild Belle at the Glass House in Pomona.
‣ And if you caught Dave Stewart’s performance last fall at the Troubadour, you know tonight will be special at the West Hollywood venue. The former Eurythmics’ main man, with a new album “Lucky Numbers” en route, does a “Dave Stewart and Friends” night that promises several notable guest turns.
