Who: How to Destroy Angels in the Mojave Tent

Memorable Because: The word on the grounds was that NIN frontman Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig, Atticus Ross and Rob Sheridan had an impressive visual show, and this proved to be true when the drapes parted ways to reveal opaque white panels that separated How to Destroy Angels from the crowd. In geometric fashion, that suits the formulaic yet intelligent compositions Reznor is known for writing, the placement of these panels added a sexy silhouette to the rise and fall of their gritty electronica. Going strictly with an all-white wardrobe, the band’s metamorphosis via light show projected onto the stage, Maandig especially looked divine in her white dress. Now if only she could work on those vocals.
What I’d Tell My Friends Who Were at the Stone Roses: Pay some attention to the man behind the curtain.
