Ear Wide Open: Smallpools

Smallpools are Sean Scanlon, Beau Kuther, Mike Kameran and Joe Intile. They make unfailingly catchy, bouncy, feel-good electro-pop, judging from their first volley. They sound like Passion Pit, Foster the People and Youngblood Hawke. They are Hype Machine-hot right now because the market can’t seem to get enough of unfailingly catchy, bouncy, feel-good electro-pop. Their song “Dreaming” seems to be about dreaming, though unfailingly catchy, bouncy, feel-good electro-pop songs don’t necessarily need to be about anything and most of the time aren’t. They worked with the production team Captain Cuts (Grouplove, etc.). They are already signed to RCA, we hear. They are already on KROQ. They are already on every pop blog’s “soundtrack of the summer.” They could inspire you to dance.
