Forays for the last day of May:

‣ Suddenly huge Scottish electro trio CHVRCHES, with only this year’s “Recover” EP to their credit (they are currently mixing their full-length), hold forth at the Fonda Theatre, with London duo Still Corners opening. [Chvrches at the Echo in March.]
‣ Tijuana Panthers celebrate the release of their new album “Semi-Sweet” at the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, supported by Dirt Dress and Wounded Lion. Keith Morris will be on hand to DJ,and the show is sold out.
‣ British guitar-slingers Peace – whom we loved at SXSW – rock the Echo, supported by Team Spirit and the Black Watch.
‣ Trixie Whitley and Rocco de Luca team up fora night at the Troubadour.
‣ Victory, no longer a bedroom project and now a trio, plays songs from its debut “Victory Is Music” at El Cid, where they’re joined by Little Red Lung, Check in the Dark and Eddie Grey.
‣ And the Central Social Aid & Pleasure Club, the venue that’s brought a lot of good live music to Santa Monica the past couple of years, takes a bow with one final rock show: The lineup features the New Division, Let’s Drive to Alaska, Gavin Turek and Monte Mar. The venue is being turned into a cocktail lounge.
