The Sunset Strip Music Festival loves rock ’n’ roll. You don’t even have to put another dime in the jukebox, baby.

The festival this year will honor the woman who made that love her calling card, Joan Jett, it was announced today. The iconic rock frontwoman who launched her career at age 15 with the Runaways and put an indelible stamp on music behind Joan Jett & the Blackhearts’ No. 1 single “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll, becomes the latest in a line of SSMF honorees that includes the Doors, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Slash. It’ll be Joan Jett Day on Aug. 1 in West Hollywood, and she’ll join her band at a VIP ceremony at the House of Blues that night.

Linkin Park has been announced as the headliner for the street festival portion of SSMF on Saturday.
