Stream: The Happy Hollows, ‘Galaxies’

The Happy Hollows took a little time off from the scene after their 2009 debut “Spells.” Frontwoman Sarah Negahdari even released solo material under the moniker Pisces before taking off with Silversun Pickups to fill in for bassist Nikki Monninger, but that doesn’t mean the band hasn’t had new music in the works. Last year they released “Endless,” which has been revealed to be a track off of their forthcoming album “Amethyst,” and now they’ve released “Galaxies” as a second teaser single. Like the first track, “Galaxies” turns up the synths and shines a spotlight on Negahdari’s soaring vocals. Yes, it’s a bit more dance-centric, but just think of it as “High Wire” on steroids. Plus, Negahdari’s guitar-tapping skills are still being put to good use. “Amethyst” is slated for a July 30 release.
