Harry Shearer, whose outsized personality and diverse talents have made him a favorite across a spectrum of media, returns to Los Angeles radio this Sunday when his “Le Show” takes over the 10 a.m. time slot on KCSN (88.5 FM). Shearer’s show, a mix of talk, comedy, commentary and music that had a 30-year run on KCRW, was axed in April by the Santa Monica station in the wake of a programming shakeup.

Meanwhile, the new KCSN weekend schedule has the L.A. Buzz Bands Show shifting to 9 p.m. on Sundays, beginning this week.

Shearer, an actor, author, comedian, satirist, musician and director, is known for his role in the rock ’n’ roll mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap,” as well as his roles voicing several characters on “The Simpsons.” He was a writer and cast member on “Saturday Night Live;” has multiple Grammy nominations for best comedy album; and has released several collections of music (the latest being last year’s “Can’t Take a Hint”) on the label he runs with his wife, the singer-songwriter Judith Owen.
