Gallery: No Age, Tijuana Panthers throw a beach ball at the Twilight Concert Series at Santa Monica Pier

It got wild and woolly Thursday night at the Santa Monica Pier for this week’s edition of the 29th annual Twilight Concert Series. L.A. noisemeisters No Age, with a new album “An Object” on the way, ripped through a set, preceded by surf-punks Tijuana Panthers, whose new album “Semi-Sweet” came out in May. The Panthers’ set was interrupted as the band had to ask the onrushing crowd to take five steps back; officials threatened to shut the show down during No Age’s set (they ended up clearing the pit). Either way, the cool, overcast evening made for a lot more crowd-surfing that real surfing.
