Monday, kinda like a weekend:
‣ We can’t seem to get enough savagery. U.K. post-punk femmes Savages return to L.A. for the third time this year (four, if you count Coachella) when they play the Fonda Theatre, with Duke Garwood opening. Here’s what it looked like in July when Savages rocked the El Rey. Above, Savages’ video for “Husbands.”
‣ Arctic Monkeys do the second of their three shows at the Wiltern behind their new album “AM.”
‣ Dr. Dog and Nathaniel Rateliff team up for a show at the Troubadour (and Dr. Dog plays at Amoeba, 6 p.m.) Dr. Dog’s new album “B-Room” is out this week.
‣ Terraplane Sun tops a local show at the Roxy – be sure to get there early for the Record Company and Irontom.
‣ YACHT does a sold-out show at the Viper Room.
‣ And the big crop of September residencies wind up – Dear Boy at the Bootleg Bar (with Warships and Love the Ghost; Free Energy at the Echo (supported by Don’t Stop or We’ll Die, the Rebel Light, the Black Apples and D.C. Pierson); Zak Waters at the Satellite (joined by TeamMate, Phil Beaudreau and Wise Cub); and Fire in the Hamptons and Deluka at Los Globos.
