The debut album from indie-pop duo The Donnies The Amys – released in early 2012 – was a regrettably overlooked little gem built around the evocative singing and songwriting of Donnie Stemp and the peripatetic rhythms of drummer Amy Wood. The twosome has released the new song “Stay the Same” via VanNessa Manlunas’ video featuring Emily Ireland, who, we suppose, is a vampire roaming Hollywood in search of a distinctive indie duo. In Stemp and Wood, she has found one, two musicians whose minimalist, trend-defying approach to pop reinforces the notion that more is not better.
