Last Monday of the month, leading into a fright-filled week ….
‣ Oft-imitated girl-group trailblazer Ronnie Spector does the first of two nights at the El Rey Theatre; it’s the 70-year-old singer’s “Beyond the Beehive” Tour.

‣ Metal legends Slayer are back for a second night at the Hollywood Palladium.
‣ Portland electro-pop duo the Blow visits the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, supported by Kisses and Love Inks. Above is the Blow’s video for “From the Future.”
‣ Basic Vacation, the NYC_Philadelphia rock trio that just released its debut EP on Capitol, is in town to play It’s a School Night at Bardot, where they are joined by Lizzo, Nostalghia and Conroy.
‣ And the October residencies end with a band – Spirit Vine at the Satellite (with Halfbluud, the Golden Ghost and LA Witch); Max & the Moon at the Bootleg Bar (joined by Harper Blynn, El Sportivo & the Blooz and Line & Circle); Haunted Summer at the Echo (supported by De Lux, Touché and Valida), PLUS at the Silverlake Lounge (with Chloe Fuller, Smiles and the Brothers Zmed) and Palaye Royale and the Filthy Souls at Los Globos.
