Mondo Monday:
‣ Desaparecidos – that’s the punk band fronted by Conor Oberst, which last released a full-length in 2002 – headlines the Fonda Theatre, with South Bay punk rockers Joyce Manor opening.
‣ Deerhoof brings the noise to the Echoplex, where LXMP and Bogan Via support.
‣ Ex-Elefant frontman Diego Garcia visits the Troubadour behind the release of his second solo album, “Paradise,” which came out last month. L.A.’s Kan Wakan opens. That’s Garcia’s mood-elevating video for “Sunnier Days,” above.
‣ Electro-pop sensation Charli XCX teams up with Kitten for a show at the El Rey Theatre.
‣ Body Parts kicks off their November residency at the Satellite in a big way – tonight’s show celebrates the release of the band’s full-lenth debut “Fire Dream.” Tapioca & the Flea, Knower and Profiles support.
‣ Night Terrors of 1927, the year-old band anchored by Jarrod Gorbel and Blake Sennett, has the Echo residency, and Avid Dancer and Parade of Lights support on opening night.
‣ Other November residencies kick off as well, with Lovelife and Wunder Wunder sharing the bill at the Bootleg; Mars & the Massacre holding down the Silverlake Lounge; and the Futures League rocking the Constellation Room in O.C.
‣ Good local lineup at the Mint, where A House for Lions, Black Belt Karate and Adult Cinema perform.
‣ And Starsystem, the dance-pop incarnation of Robert Schwartzman of Rooney, anchors the lineup for It’s a School Night at Bardot.
